Cpl. Troy "The Wizard" Reeves

Well, after a bit more research, I finally found the actor who played "The Wizard"! :)

His name is Taylor Sheridan and here's his IMDB page: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0792263/

I found him completely by coincidence as I googled "taylor gibler actor" and in search results there was this guy who looked like Cpl. Reeves. So I looked into it some more. The name and physical appearance were there, as well as age (47 now, meaning around No Remorse he was about 25), but the last name was different. Then I saw a line saying that he has a brother named John Gibler. Since there's no mention on his IMDB page that he ever was in any video game, I checked in which movies/series he was starring around 1995. and among others, he starred in Walker Texas Ranger. So I found the particular episode on Daily Motion - check around 03:35

So there we have it - "mystery" solved! ;;)

p.s.

I deleted the old Taylor Gibler thread.

Excellent research! Interesting that he wrote Sicario. Maybe I should reach out to see what he has to say about Crusader.

Yeah, a short interview would be cool. As far as I understand, No Remorse is among his first acting gigs.

I haven't seen Sicario, but judging by the IMDB score and the fact that it was nominated for 3 Oscars, I'm definitely gonna watch it - tonight, actually. :)

EDIT: Seen Sicario - amazing movie!

Weird thing to see: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0499097/

I just happened to glance at the title of this movie and my brain instinctually read "No Remorse." After recoiling from that, I looked at who wrote it--Wizard. So now he is connected to both Without Remorse and No Remorse.

That is absolutely amazing. If the guy can write the script for a movie as good as Sicario then Without Remorse bears looking into.

Wait, you mean the Taylor Sheridan from the Yellowstone franchise is Wizard? Mind is blown
Yep, that's him. I'm sure he's totally forgotten about Crusader at this point, since they filmed the cutscenes from November to December '94. Also the fact he's now hugely successful and a multi-millionaire.

Has this been verified? I tried feeding this information and a screen capture of Reaves to ChatGPT. It wasn't convinced. However it also didn't know the his birthname was actually Gibler even though that info is available on Wikipedia. I always take everything it says with a grain of salt. However it also thinks the facial features don't match up well with known 1994/1995 photo's of Sheridan. Then again, I do see the resemblance and I'm notoriously bad at that. I also explains why I had this weird feeling about the character he plays on the Yellowstone. It must have been some dormant recognition in my mind.

It's never been officially verified, but if you look at the episodes of Walker Texas Ranger he was on, it's clearly our beloved Wizard. And we can put 2 and 2 together. I suppose we could reach out to his agency or whatever to verify that.

Minor nitpick btw: the Crusader credits mention Gibbler, while Sheridan's birthname is Gibler with a singular b. I'm still willing to believe it's him.
