New domain

Echo Sector was down for over a month as the owner of the domain forgot to pay the bills at renewal time. Believe it or not, I’ve never owned the EchoSector.com domain, but I’m very glad that has now changed. Please update your bookmarks to EchoSector.org!

For long-term plans, I am looking to overhaul the site completely and bring it into modern web design standards, in addition to a knowledgebase/wiki for in-universe fiction. If you’re interested in helping out in any regard with this, please reach out to me: keenan@echosector.org or send me a message on the forum.

I'm old enough to know the Cyb was the owner behind it all. I guess you no longer have contact with him? I hadn't even noticed it was down yet, I click my bookmark maybe once every 2 or 3 months to read up on the forum. Guess I would have noticed sooner or later.

I have no technical expertise but I would be willing to contribute to the content of the wiki. My love for this game and universe never dies.

I haven't lost contact with him, I think he just has other priorities currently. An element as important as the domain name shouldn't be in the hands of someone else, especially someone who hasn't been active in the community for over a decade. What happened was a result of negligence and now we have to deal with 17+ years of dead links across the internet. I've updated the link at all the 'big' places (Wikipedia, MobyGames, PCGamingWiki), but all the other content online like YouTube videos will never be fixed. I'm hoping the .com domain becomes available again at one point so I can scoop it up and redirect to the 'new' site. I don't care about SEO or marketing at all, I just want people to know that a website exists for Crusader fans to mingle!

If you wanna be an admin of the wiki, that'd be great. I like universe fiction and stuff, but I kinda don't care about the everyday sort of stuff for wiki management. I'm still looking into the best wiki software to use.

I'd be willing to give it a shot. Sadly I'm not tech savvy enough to help you in deciding the software. I'm part of another community that uses an extensive wiki, but I don't know what the software for that is. At the bottom is a button "powered by MediaWiki" ? The look and feel is a lot like the real Wikipedia (at least the Wikipedia I knew from 10 years ago)
